With a name like "Kill Bill" you know it's gonna be good...
What's up with today's comic? Well, I saw "Kill Bill" on the weekend (twice in two days!!!) and immediately feel in love. So I decided that we needed to do a tribute comic, and I've been looking for an excuse to cut off Alex's arm for a while now (and don't expect it to stop either).
And now on to "Kill Bill". It's fucking awesome! That's all I need to say, however I will continue. The movie, for those of you who don't know, is about a women (Uma Thurman, who's name you never find out) who was a member of an assassin squad known as "The Deadly Viper Assassin Squad". Long story short, on her wedding day the assassin squad, under Bill's command, kills everyone in the church and shoots Uma in the head. She goes into a coma for four years and when she wakes up, she wants revenge! "Kill Bill vol.1" as it should be called, is pretty much her killing off the first two members of the squad. Vivica A. Fox has a minor role and is the first to go, the movie focuses more on O-Ren Ishii, played by Lucy Liu.
The movie itself is a Quentin Tarantino movie and is therefore needlessly violent. There's a lot of blood in this movie. If you've seen "Ninja Scroll" then you'll know what to expect. For those of you who haven't, this means that when someone's head is cut off, there is a fountain of blood that shoots up and lasts for a few seconds (don't say I didn't warn you). Probably the most horrifying thing is that all the while people are laughing, and I don't mean in the movie. The second time I saw the movie, whenever the blood shot out or you saw a floor strewn with groaning, bleeding and dead baddies, the whole theater would start to giggle. It's impossible not to, even I couldn't help myself. And you feel so bad for laughing at the carnage, but on the other hand, there's just so much that it's silly.
"Kill Bill" is a lot like an anime movie (in fact there's an anime sequence in the movie). If you like anime, go see "Kill Bill", you'll love it. If you don't like anime, go see "Kill Bill" anyways because it's so god damn cool!
Ok, I'll stop with the Kill Bill for now, as long as everyone goes to see it. Enjoy!
